We’re so excited that you are interested in volunteering with us for the 2018 Shipwrecked VBS!
In addition to our on campus VBS, we are once again offering the Off Campus Vacation Bible School (OCVBS) where our team will be conducting VBS for children at Blessed Hope in Phillipsburg. OCVBS provides our volunteers with a similar experience as they would be having on our campus, just at a different location. Students (and adults) choosing OCVBS will meet at SR in the morning and be transported to Blessed Hope by SR volunteers, and then be brought back to SR to be picked up at the regular VBS dismissal time. Additional specific details will be communicated at a later date.
Please be aware that there are very limited spots for our middle school students to serve. Once spots are filled in either program, we will go to a waitlist. A time stamp of each registration will let us accurately monitor when each person registered. We will fill all positions on a first come, first served basis to be most fair.
When you sign up to volunteer and are bringing your children with you, this is the time to sign them up through a link provided in your confirmation email. This Participant Registration is only available for volunteers' children at this time.
The last day to register as a volunteer in VBS is Wednesday, Jun. 6 - now extended to Friday, Jun. 8.
The last day to register to participate in VBS is Sunday, Jun. 10.
Our VBS Training Meeting is on Sunday, Jun. 10 at 12:45pm. This is a mandatory meeting for ALL Middle School Volunteers and ALL New to VBS Volunteers.
For returning OCVBS volunteers it is not a requirement to attend the Training Meeting, but we are strongly urging ALL OCVBS volunteers to meet. This year we are going to a new venue with new new opportunities and challenges that all OCVBS volunteers need to be aware of. Again, ALL Middle School Volunteers and ALL New to VBS Volunteers must attend.
VBS Volunteer and Participant Registration:
Please read the forms listed in the sidebar as you will be asked to agree to them during the registration process.
Policy Reminder: When registering as a volunteer we will try to honor "partnering" requests to be with one volunteer if: (1) Both volunteers request each other. (2) Both requests are in the same area, and lastly (3) There are positions for both in that area.
You will be able to register your own children to participate in Vacation Bible School once you have registered to volunteer. You will receive the link to do so in your Volunteer Confirmation Email. Please note: Volunteers are not able to be placed with VBS participants within their household (i.e. mom with child, teen with sibling).
Policy Reminder: When registering your child as a participant, you can request for your child to be placed with one friend in his/her same age group. In order for us to honor your request, that friend must also request to be placed with your child. If there is not a mutual request, we cannot guarantee that your child will be placed with his friend. We encourage you to speak with the parent of the friend prior to registration to ensure that a mutual request is made. Once the children have registered and been placed in a group, no changes will be made to the rosters.
You will receive a Confirmation Email listing each person who has been successfully registered (i.e. yourself as a volunteer and a separate one for each child registered to participate). If a confirmation email is not received, they have not been successfully registered.
