Thank you for your interest in extending God's love to the people of Jersey City by providing fresh produce to those who are not able to access fresh, healthy food. Jersey City is one of NJ's primary urban 'food deserts,' where fresh food is simply not available, having significant implications on the health of residents in that city, especially those facing poverty.
In partnership with America's Grow-a-Row and Team Walker, a youth enrichment program in Jersey City, this opportunity includes picking up produce at Peaceful Valley Orchards, delivering it to a park in Jersey City and working alongside food recipients to distribute the produce to about 100 families in need at no cost to them. While working to meet these physical needs, there are certainly opportunities to meet spiritual needs, as well. Simply showing up speaks volumes to those being served, but South Ridge participants are also encouraged to pursue spiritual conversations and share how God has worked in their life.
