Worship Team

In each service and at
other events, God is lifted up through praise and worship. As our
volunteer leaders and musicians sing to the Lord for his greatness,
celebrate His goodness, meditate on His Holiness, and devote themselves
to Him, they seek to guide others to do the same.
We strive to select a
relevant variety of music that resonates with people of all ages.
Many selections are newer expressions of worship. We also incorporate
songs that represent the Christian legacy passed down through the
ages. It is our desire that music at South Ridge be God’s
tool to help people see Him more clearly and inspire them to become
more fully devoted to Him.

Drama Team
At South Ridge, we often
include drama in the worship service which is aimed at opening hearts
and minds toward life-change. Time and time again, the Bible uses
stories and object lessons to bring people to understand and be
impacted by the truth. Jesus told parables which communicated God’s
perspective using simple, everyday themes such as people looking
for lost things, a man going on a trip, and employees putting in
a day’s work. They are stories of sadness, gladness, and even
humor.
Similarly, our drama team
seeks to portray life’s triumphs and tragedies, opening dialogue
to a deeper level of engagement with God. As we consider the theme
of each service our volunteers seek to select or write material
that compliments the music, message, and other media giving God’s
Spirit maximum opportunity to work in lives.

Sound Team
It is the aim of our sound
ministry to create a mix of sounds that is both able to be heard
and pleasing to hear, providing maximum potential for God’s
Spirit to work in lives during the worship experience.
This is much more than
simply amplifying sounds. It involves the orchestration of voices,
sounds, and instruments to create a natural blend. The goal is for
the congregation to hear every word or tone without frustration,
resonating in heart and mind with its volume and clarity.
Our volunteers serve on
a rotating basis, under the supervision of ministry leader Nick
Feenstra. Specific responsibilities include some simple setting
up, taking down, and maintaining of equipment as well as running
the sound board for the music, drama, and video components of each
service.

Feenstra at nfeenstra@cranepc.com and check out the attached purpose statement.
Light Team
Lighting creates order
and enthusiasm in the worship experience, providing maximum potential
for God’s Spirit to work in lives. It is an essential part
of each South Ridge service. Visibility is provided, emotional tone
is emphasized, and transitions between various segments of worship
are communicated.
At times, we will intentionally
create a tone of intimacy and reflection, as we quietly seek to
encounter the Creator. At other times, we will celebrate the Lord
and give thanks for His goodness. Our volunteers employ lighting
purposefully to compliment the response aim that our Worship Team
is working to create.
In addition, as our volunteers
operate the lighting board, they cue the audience to realize that
something new is taking place and wordlessly indicate where in the
Worship Center it is happening. For example, as the house lights
fade and the stage lights rise a sense of anticipation is created
for what is about to happen.

Video Team
Our video ministry adds
variation, vibrancy, and visual support to the worship experience,
providing maximum potential for God’s Spirit to work in lives.
The Worship Center computer contains a broad palate of images from
which the video team seeks to purposefully compliment the heart
and tone of each segment of the service.
This includes blending
images and song lyrics, creating presentations that highlight special
programs and events, transitioning to and from video segments, and
generally taking ownership of all computer-generated visual support. More information on this ministry can be found on the attached Word document.

Graphic Team

Here at South Ridge we try to use all of the communication tools at our disposal to express the grace and forgiveness God extends to humanity. One of those communication tools is graphic design.
This Team ulitizes graphic design to communicate the love of God to the congregation and community through creative and clear graphics.
The commitment level is based on need. Whenever we have a need a deadline would be given. If you are open and interested then take it. Our current needs, sermon series, are small but we are looking to grow.

There are many incredible things God is during through us on and off campus. The Photo Team is designed to visually capture some incredible things. The Team seeks to create moving and memorable photos than can be used to educate and illuminate our congregation and community.
There are two levels of commitment. The first is to bring your camera and causally shoot programs and events you normally attend. The second is shoot programs and events, when asked, you normally don’t attend.
