About Awana @ SRCC

Awana is fun! That's the bottom line for most kids. Of course at Awana, they're learning and growing while they're having fun. Awana is every Wednesday evening from 6:15 to 8:00, from September through May.

Awana Club meetings are brimming with life-enriching experiences for young people! Trained Leaders guide children through age-appropriate material. At Awana, children learn that God is real, that He loves them, and that He has expressed that love through Jesus Christ. They also learn how to apply the truths of the Bible to their daily lives. In a world desperate for high standards of morality and ethics, Awana uses the Bible to teach children to honor God and their fellow human beings.

Our goal is to reach boys and girls for Christ and train them to serve Him. The Awana program is distinctively Christian and Bible-centered. Of course, Awana Clubs do not exclude kids based on their religious affiliation. Club meetings are open to all.

Our AWANA program runs from September through May.  You'll find information on this and other children's ministries at our information kiosk in the hallway across from the nursery.  Please contact Dori Parker, Director of Family Ministries, or Vicky Gawalis, Family Ministry Assistant with questions.

Awana Curriculum

Sparks: Kindergarten - 2nd Grade

Sparks Curriculum Sampler

Sparks curriculum is comprised of three handbooks. Each handbook builds a foundation of biblical wisdom through memory verse drills, crafts, activities and review of key doctrine and Bible facts.

Before working in the first handbook, HangGlider, all newcomers to Sparks will complete an entrance booklet – Flight 3:16 – that centers on the gospel message of John 3:16. WingRunner and SkyStormer handbooks challenge Sparkies to learn about 15 more verses than the preceding book.

Each handbook includes an audio CD with readings of all the Bible biographies, memory verses and character stories featuring Sparky the Firefly and his friends Chloe, Jacob and Joel.

T & T: 3rd - 6th Grade

T & T Curriculum Books 1&2

T&T Ultimate Adventure™ teaches 3rd & 4th graders that salvation in Christ is the ultimate adventure!

Kids in T&T learn that the Bible is true and they can firmly trust what it says. Each Ultimate Adventure handbook answers four questions about God and the Bible that third- and fourth-graders frequently ask. Clubbers learn eight answers to each of these questions along with verses to back up these answers. The handbooks include Bible studies and activities that allow children to go deeper into the subject matter. Before working in a handbook, kids new to T&T complete a short booklet that explains God's plan of salvation.

Ultimate Challenge Books 3 &4

T&T Ultimate Challenge™ trains 5th & 6th graders that walking faithfully with Christ is the ultimate challenge!

Each Ultimate Challenge handbook answers four questions about God and the Bible that preteens typically ask. Kids learn eight answers to each of these questions, memorizing verses that back up the answers. Bible studies, activities and service opportunities take them further into the subject matter. Before working in a handbook, kids new to T&T complete a short booklet that explains God's plan of salvation.
