Pre-School Philosophy & Curriculum
Crossroads Christian Academy PreSchool seeks to provide a quality education designed to address the developmental needs of the whole child. Our curriculum is uniquely fashioned to promote spiritual, physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development consistent with a commitment to Christian truth and character. The goal of each experience is to foster growth and development, nurture independence and confidence, and encourage the uniqueness of each child. Attention is given to the components of preschool education as outlined by the State of New Jersey.
Our curriculum is based upon specific units of study. Lesson plans and activities revolve around concentrated themes. These may include: Color and Shape Recognition, Autumn, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Winter, Healthy Habits, Five Senses, Self-awareness, Valentine's Day, Spring, Easter, Numbers, and Counting. Reading readiness is incorporated throughout our curriculum. Units of study may vary between the three and four year-old classes.
Emphasis is placed upon establishing a daily schedule, since children gain security and confidence within a set routine. Activities in our daily schedule may include: creative play, circle time, snack, project time, music, Bible instruction, games, show and tell, and story time.
